On Saturday 4 September 2004, following failure of a Virgin HST on the 14.20 Newquay-Manchester service, EWS were contracted to send Class 37/4 No. 37425 light from Cardiff to Plymouth to assist the train forward. the westbound light loco move is seen passing Dawlish. |

On Sunday 12 September four sets of Midland Mainline 'Project Rio' HST sets were transferred to First Rail at Plymouth Laira. All were complete HSTs but hauled by Freightliner Heavy Haul. The first train of the four was powered by green-liveried No. 47150 and is seen passing over Cockwood Harbour. Sadly the Devon weather was not at its prime! Thanks to the driver for the 'little' exhaust. |
